The Reserva Marina del Cabo de San Antonio is the result of the extension of the Macizo Montgó to the bottom of the sea, resulting in one of the richest of our Mediterranean coasts seabed.

Cabo de San Antonio Natural Marine Reserve is one of the most beautiful corners of the east coast, consists of ravines and high cliffs that plunge into the sea abruptly. It is located between the towns of Denia and Javea where this tongue of land with a height of 170m above sea level and an area of 250 hectares, is spectacular scenery and great environmental wealth.

In one of its end, in the highest area is the Faro de San Antonio which began to guide sailors with their first glimmerings in 1855 and takes 161 years signaling the coast to sailors and fishermen by these rugged coastlines. At the top is a viewpoint from where you can enjoy incredible views of the coast of Javea and Denia, one of the most beautiful views of the area.

23 years ago this extraordinary place was declared a marine reserve and since then has enjoyed excellent health, the population of marine life has grown and the very important seagrass meadows are growing, thereby helping significantly to the richness of life underwater for the purity of its waters.

Practice diving in the Cabo de San Antonio Natural Marine Reserve

This is an especially appreciated spot by scuba divers who come here from all over the world to enjoy one of the richest seabeds of the Spanish coast. The waters in this area are incredibly clear and a large number of species inhabits them, making this place an ideal place to practice this sport, but remember that before you must ask for the relevant permits as it is a protected area and access is not free. There are many companies that organize these fantastic outputs.

There are also several routes to visit the area by tourist boats from nearby ports. You can enjoy stunning landscapes, visit caves and sail along one of the most beautiful spots on the east coast.
