De tapas por Málaga
These are the ones that you must try:
Boquerones en vinagre- If Malaga is known for something, then it is for its anchovies. They usually serve them with garlic, parsley, boiled egg and extra virgin olive oil.
Ensalada malagueña– It’s a super refreshing salad that perfectly combines the salty taste of cod with the sweet orange taste.
Fritura malagueña- squids, anchovies, dogfish, mullet, etc. A very simple tapa marinera that can be scented with lemon.
Porra Antequerana – Originating in Antequera and similar to gazpacho, this dish also is served in almost every bar and restaurant in Malaga.
Here is a small selection of some of our favorite places to go for tapas:
Cortijo de Pepe (Pl Merced, 2.) – Open since 1971, this traditional restaurant offers no modern dishes, but lifelong classics like montadito de lomo or beans with ham. They also have a good selection of cheese and Iberian hams.
Bar Mercado Atarazanas (Dockyards C., 10) – Located in the central market of Malaga, it is the place to go if you want to try tapas prepared with fish and the freshest seafood. This palce is so crowded that you will surely enjoy your tapas standing. We especially recommend the boquerones en vinagre fried fish and shrimp skewers.
Bodega El Pimpi (C. Granada, 62) – A classic bar in Malaga, with a typical Andalusian yard, its atmosphere and history make it an almost obligatory visit. They have a good wine list to accompany tapas like the ajo blanco malagueño malagueño or huevos estrellados con chanquetes.
Bodeguita El Gallo (San Agustin C., 19) – Located in one of the most picturesque areas of Malaga, this small family winery prepares some delicious tapas, among which we highlight the croquetas de puchero and home flamenquines. Don’t forget your glass of wine!
