It opened in 1980 and became famous for its spectacular sunsets thanks to its great location and their cd’s compilations of chill out music, of which they have sold thousands of copies worldwide.

In recent years, other lounge bars have opened such as Mambo and Savannah but Café del Mar has not lost any of its charm and its loyal clientele, despite the passing years, it remains a local reference featuring a great atmosphere to see the sunset by the sea.

Throughout the day you can eat or drink as there is a wide range of drinks and cocktails which blend perfectly with the magical moment when the sun sets and everything is colored orange. Such a special atmosphere is created that people even applaud when the sun has just set.
Perhaps there are other nicer, quieter and cheaper places to see the sunset, but it is clear that the Café del Mar is the most famous, and is usually crowded, but it is a historic place. We could even say that it is a classic or a reference place where all chill out music lovers have to go at least once.
