S’Albufera Natural Park

Parque Natural de S’Albufera is the most important wetland in the Balearic Islands and is located northeast of the island between the towns of Alcudia, Sa Pobla, and Muro.

The park is composed of large marshes and over 1.5 km of dunes where more than 200 species of birds live, as well as many marine species and plants of great environmental importance. In 1987 it was declared special protection area for birds and meadow of international importance by the Ramsar Convention for wetlands protection.

Most of the park is flooded, forming freshwater marshes densely populated with vegetation, creating the perfect habitat for a large number of birds.Nature lovers will enjoy the 4 well marked itineraries, as well as the 4 viewpoints for bird watching around the park. The routes are t sa Roca, la des Colombars , la des Cibollar y el camino d’Enmig. Tours can be done by bike or on foot to discover this unique corner of the island. The best thing you can do, is to first see the reception center of the park located 1 km from the entrance, where we provide information and assistance on all routes and possibilities offered in S’Albufera.

      3. Camino d’Enmig-ses Puntes: 11.500 m / 3,30 h. on foot

 

    4. Itinerario des Cibollar: 725 m / 30 min. on foot

 

It is certainly a highly recommended and educational tour, where you will enjoy a unique natural environment on the island of Mallorca.

How do I get to the Park of the Albufera?

Palma de Mallorca, take the road to Puerto Alcudia. The entrance is on the road Puerto Alcudia-Artà, Muro Beach on the bridge of the Englishmen. Access to the Natural Park of S’Albufera can be done on foot or by bicycle via the Pont dels Anglesos. You can park the motor vehicle in the nearby urbanizations vials or parking enabled for this purpose near the entrance of the Park.

Information about S’Albufera Natural Park

Centro de Reception: To a kilometer of the entrance of the Park, is located the center of reception. Visit the park hours are 9:00 to 18:00 from April 1 to September 30, and 9:00 to 17:00 from October 1 to March 31. The visit to the Park is free, but requires a permit which must be requested at the reception centre,
