Walking the Camí de Ronda is one of the excursions and activities most beautiful and emblematic of the Costa Dorada and Salou. Particularly if you like to walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The seaside path Camí de Ronda has a length of 5.5 kilometers. It was formerly used for surveillance of the coast or by fishermen. It was rebuilt a few years ago and is still largely unknown to many inhabitants of Salou. The entire route is of special beauty and the views are spectacular. It also runs through the Litoral in an area where until a few years ago was impossible to do, so that nature is wild and authentic.
This route that we suggest, runs along the “roquer” which is called colloquially as the Cabo of Salou. It has become one of the symbols of the city, thanks to a revitalized modern architecture that blends with the landscape. Cap Salou is also an ideal place for bird watching. Along this path we will find some bunkers built during the Spanish Civil War along the coastline. We will find too the remains of an ancient lazaretto of 1829, which was a hospital where he secluded himself to people with infectious diseases, or quarantined those who came from places where he could have been infected.
Going through the Camí de Ronda you will discover the great natural and scenic beauty of the area. In addition to the different panoramic that can be discovered along the way, the road runs along beaches and coves, making it a different way to discover the Cap Salou and less touristy area.
This is a journey which we can take easily as a walk with friends, with family or alone. It does not require excessive effort and it is a great way to discover the coast of Salou.
