Located about 18 km from Alcudiathrough the natural beauty scene of the Sierra de Tramontana, is Playa de Formentor, a very long and narrow beach of fine white sand surrounded by a large pine forest and lapped by turquoise waters, and especially crystal.
It is not surprising that this beach appears in the Top 5 in all the rankingsamong the best beaches of Mallorca. It is a real jewel of the Mediterranean and a symbol of the island that will make you fall in love on sight.
On Playa, formentor is the famous Hotel Formentor that has been visited for decades by people from high society, artists and celebrities like Charles Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn and Winston Churchill, who came here to relax and be inspired by this wonderful Mediterranean spot.
Playa formentor is away from the bustle of tourism beach although it is very easy to reach. The beach is well equipped; there are services such as shower, footbath, rent of hammocks and parasols, and equipment for water sports, lifeguard, a small pier, bars and a restaurant.
The only downside is that there is not a free parking nearby, and paid parking for the beach costs 9 €, but still worth getting there. You can also go by bus.
No matter if you don’t go down to enjoy the beach, you can walk to Faro de Formentor; the road allows visitors to enjoy spectacular views of Puerto de Pollensa from a popular viewpoint.
