Located in the heart of Alicante is this fabulous Guadalest Valley, 590 m above sea level, and is the authentic lung of the province. This is a depression between the Sierra de Aitana, the Sierra de Serrella and Sierra de Xortá, which along the river and swamp of Guadalest, form a unique natural setting. And dominating the valley is, at the top of the mountain, Guadalest Castle which was declared a Historical Site in 1974.
Along the Guadalest valley there are deployed picturesque towns such as Benifató, Benimantell, Abdet, Guadalest and Confrides.
Visiting this valley never leaves anyone indifferent because, in addition to an exceptional natural environment, you can find museums, castles, restaurants and shops, one of the most visited towns in the Marina Baixa is Guadalest.
The municipality dating from the Muslim period counts today with only 200 inhabitants, but has an exceptional tourist and cultural offering. There you will find 5 museums, El Castillo de San José, El Castillo Alcozaiba, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, as well as a lot of souvenir shops, craft shops, bars and a restaurant.
It is a very charming village, ancient houses painted white and decorated with flowers that stand out among the green forests of the environment. Walking through its narrow cobbled streets, one has the feeling of being transported to another era. Any tour of the village take us unequivocally up to the top, where the Guadalest Castle is and from where you can enjoy exceptional views of the valley.

By the CV-70 road in La Nucia or in Polop de la Marina.
By the CV-755 road in Altea la Vella, after passing through Callosa d’En Sarria.
