Visits and activities essential for l’Estartit:
Relax, sun and beach
Surely, if you’ve got here it is because you like sun and beaches, so enjoy its fantastic beaches that you can explore on foot while enjoying the landscape as you move away from the center of L ‘Estartit. All of its beaches are of great natural beauty and crystalline waters with shallow bottoms where you can snorkel and do lots of other activities. If you have enough time, visit the beautiful coves nearby.
Visit Torroella de Montgri
We recommend an afternoon stroll in the nearby medieval town of Torroella de Montgri, located just 5km from L’Estartit, where you can stroll through its narrow streets dotted by ancient stone houses. If you have the chance to visit it on a Monday morning, when the street market is being installed, you can experience the visit in a livelier and fun atmosphere. Do not miss the visit to the Castle of Torroella, a military fortification of the XIII century.
Maritime excursion to the Medes Islands
You cannot leave Estartit without visiting the Parque Natural Marino de España, a beautiful protected natural area of great scenic and environmental value inhabited by many marine species. You can get there through one of the many tours offered in the city, or even kayaking. But certainly, you cannot miss this visit if you are fond of diving, because it is one of the most recognized venues for this sport in Spain.
One day of hiking along the coast
If you like active holidays, walking and nature, then you cannot miss one of the most beautiful routes of the Costa Brava, due to its beautiful spots in the Natural Park of Montgrí, where the Massif, which is of the same name, reaches the sea, creating rough rock formations and creating beautiful and unique coves. We recommend an easy route of about 5 hours’ duration, in which you walk 13km and discover the incredible CalaMontgó and CalaFerriol.
