This beautiful building, with its white stone balustrade, has become a symbol of Benidorm and a place visited by all tourists who come to visit. This place is also called as “El Castillo” because here it was located for several centuries, from the 14th to the 17th centuries, the fantastic castle of Benidorm, where they defended themselves from the continuous attacks of pirates and privateers.
To reach the Balcón deñ Mediterraneo you first have to climb to the old town, a charming walk through the history of a city that was in the beginning a small fishing district. It is a real pleasure to get lost in its narrow cobbled streets full of shops, terraces and restaurants, shaping one of the liveliest areas of the city. In this area you can enjoy a nice walk visiting different historical buildings, like Iglesia de San Jaime or Paseo de la Alameda.
