The Castle Viewpoint also called Balcón del Mediterraneo, is one of the most emblematic spots of the city of Benidorm, this rocky prominence is located in the old town that separates the beaches of Poniente and Levante beaches and that no visitor should miss.
At any hour of the day enjoy from the balcony of The Castle Viewpoint
This beautiful building, with its white stone balustrade, has become a symbol of Benidorm and a place visited by all tourists who come to visit. The visit to the viewpoint is worth both day and night; during the day you can contemplate an endless view of the sea and the impressive skyline of Benidorm, and at nightfall, because the illuminated city is also a show.
One of the most typical and photographed images of Benidorm used to be the views from the Castle Viewpoint to a prominent Geiser at sea throwing water several meters high. These days it is difficult to see this picture, because the council has stopped this attraction due to structural problems.
This place is also called as “El Castillo” because here it was located for several centuries, from the 14th to the 17th centuries, the fantastic castle of Benidorm, where they defended themselves from the continuous attacks of pirates and privateers.
To reach the Balcón deñ Mediterraneo you first have to climb to the old town, a charming walk through the history of a city that was in the beginning a small fishing district. It is a real pleasure to get lost in its narrow cobbled streets full of shops, terraces and restaurants, shaping one of the liveliest areas of the city. In this area you can enjoy a nice walk visiting different historical buildings, like Iglesia de San Jaime or Paseo de la Alameda.
