El Racó cove ~ Cala El Racó

It is a small cove of gravel located in the city center, but is simple to find as it is located next to the Peñón, visible from several kilometers

El Racó cove

El Racó cove ( Cala Racó ) is a beautiful beach located in Calpe, at the foot of Peñon de Ifach, after passing through the port next to the Yacht club we find this small cove of white gravel with a length of only 80m and uncrowded which is protected by one of the dykes of the Harbor. From here starts Paseo Ecológico Príncipe de Asturias, bordering the Peñón.

El Racó cove has a bar where to enjoy some refreshments and relax. Its rocky bottoms keep a large number of marine species that makes this an ideal place to go diving or snorkeling.

The beach does not have many services but has the advantage of being a central beach with no crowds. It is also a good place for lovers of angling.

If you go by car we recommend going early, as there are few parking spaces in the area, and you must try to park at the yacht club that is very close to the cove. We also recommend wearing flip flops.

How to get to El Racó cove in Calpe ?

If you go by the N-332 road turn onto the Calpe-North exit (next to a gas station) and go towards the Parque Natural Penyal d’Ifach until you reach a roundabout indicating the Cala Racó.
