Very close to Altea, in the town of Alfar del Pi in the tourist resort of Albir we find the Albir beach, a charming corner, a beach of cobbles that is bordered on the north with Playa de Cap Blanc and the south with the beautiful Sierra Helada.
Albir beach is a quiet place but it offers all the services necessary for a great day at the beach. Its waters are especially clean and have a lovely blue color. Its Posidonia algae prairies favor the proliferation of marine fauna, making this beach ideal for water sports. The beach has umbrellas and deck chairs rentals, showers and footbaths, toilets and rescue service. For its beauty, quality of service and cleanliness of the place, the Albir Beach is usually awarded every year with the Blue Flag of the European Union.
From Altea, the beach is skirted with a beautiful and lively promenade, also called Paseo de las Estrellas, due to the film festival held in the town, allowing you to make pleasant walks from one municipality to the other in just 20 minutes. Along the promenade are numerous bars, restaurants and terraces plus a craft market that is installed in the summer with a great atmosphere during the season.
If you like walking, you could take a longer walk from the beach to the lighthouse, the ride is about two hours but worth by to admire the beauty of the place and the views from the lighthouse.
