Thanks to its crystal clear waters and its excellent services and facilities, Burriana beach is one of the most popular beaches of Nerja. Since 2004, this beach has been certificated with the Q of Tourist Quality and the Blue Flag by the European Union. This confirms the prestige and quality of the services offered on the beach.
This large sandy area has a great gastronomic offer, large terraces and a multitude of restaurants of all kinds, as well as souvenir stores scattered around the promenade that surround the whole beach. In summer, this area has a fabulous atmosphere, where stores and terraces are full of people while the promenade has a steady stream of tourists who walk up and down all day.
The Paseo Marítimo Antonio Mercero received its name in honor to the popular television series of the 80s Verano Azul. It was filmed in Nerja. This series gathered people in front of the TV for decades and entertained millions of Spaniards with the adventures of some bold and fun kids.
One of the most popular restaurants is the famous “Restaurant Ayo”, located on the very Burriana Beach. For over 30 years, this restaurant has been cooking the best paellas a la leña of the Costa Del Sol. Undoubtedly, this is a mythical place that no one can miss on any visit to Nerja.
How to get to Playa de Burriana?
The best way to reach the beach is by taxi or car. There is a large parking area right next to the beach. Although we recommend arriving early during the high season to find a place, due to the huge influx of people on the beach.
Another way to access the beach is on foot from Nerja. Through a simple and relatively short path (about 1 km). The way back can be hard because it is uphill.
