re Calahonda beach is small, nestled between cliffs located in the center of Nerja, Málaga Province, at the foot of the Balcón de Europa. The small cove is a symbol of Nerja which, along the cliffs, make up one of the most beautiful and emblematic postcards of Andalucía.

Calahonda beach is a frequent choice for Nerjeños and tourists attracted to this beautiful cove of coarse and dark gravel. It is surrounded by typical fishermen’s houses painted in white and blue. Being such a beautiful central beach, it’s also the busiest.

The Chiringuito Papagayo is a very famous restaurant of the beach where you can drink and taste delicious dishes. A cozy place by the sea where there is also live music in the evenings. On the beach, you can find sun loungers and parasols.
The access to Calahonda beach is just before reaching the Balcón de Europa, where you will find a staircase next to the tourist office that will take you straight to the beach.
