The building was built in 1927 by the Hermann family who unfortunately could not arrive to live in it because of the outbreak of the Spanish civil war. Later it was an American family who lived in the Castle until the 1980s. Then it passed into the hands of the City Council. Today the enclosure serves as a cultural center for weddings, concerts, and exhibitions of all kinds.
