Plaza de Santa Catalina

Located in the heart of the city, Plaza de Santa Catalina was for many years the center of Conil until the late nineteenth century. This is, in our view, one of the liveliest areas of the city, especially at nightfall.

Numerous monuments are found around the square, such as Iglesia de Santa Catalina, which is built in Neo-Mudéjar style, the castle, Ermita de Jesus, and a true symbol of Conil: Torre de Guzman. During the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, this tower was located within the walls and, along with other towers strategically located along the coast, was part of a defensive system against the constant attacks of pirates. From the top of the tower, you can enjoy exceptional views of the whole municipality.
