Costa Cálida is located on the coast of the region of Murcia, in which both the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor meet. In these seas, we will find from long and lonely beaches, urban beaches with all kinds of amenities and marinas, to wild coves where you can relax .
In such a vast coastline of 250 miles of fantastic beaches, there is so much to see that it is difficult to make a small selection. Some of the places that you cannot miss if you visit Costa Cálida are La Manga and Mar Menor, the largest salt Lake in Europe and an icon of tourism.
From this spot begins a series of solitary coves and cliffs, accompanied by a rugged coast that leads to the beaches of Cartagena, a good place to get lost and disconnect from the world. If you are looking for something livelier during the day or night you can visit Mazarron, and further south you will find the charming town of Aguilas, which features amazing bays and spectacular natural landscapes. Lovers of nature and active tourism cannot miss doing an excursion in Parque regional de las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro.
You can play golf, practice scuba diving or water sports, sail on a sailboat to enjoy one of the most beautiful spectacles of this coast, watch the sunrises and sunsets, or enjoy incredibly relaxing treatments in a thalassotherapy center.
In Costa Cálida, gastronomy is of relevance, due to the great variety of products that nature supplies it. Any meeting or celebration takes place around a well-stocked table, where centuries of history and the passage of the different civilizations have left their mark in its gastronomy. Costa Cálida features a typical Mediterranean diet where fish is cooked in salt, baked, stewed, grilled or fried, while vegetables are accompanied with bread, olive oil and wine. Some of the typical dishes of this region are the cauldrons, rice dishes with fish and peppers, deer cake, "zarangollo" (scrambled eggs), tuna mojama, Mar Menor prawns, Pork sausages and the “paparajotes”, a dessert made from lemon leaves.
If we add to this an excellent warm climate with an average annual of 19º, we get a fantastic tourist destination that features picturesque towns such as Mazarrón, Águilas, San Pedro de Pinatar, or one of the best-known tourist destinations in Spain: Manga del Mar Menor.
