The main dish from the gastronomy of Torredembarra is "Bull de tonyina", made of dry tuna tripe cooked with garlic and parsley. This dish was invented because fishermen, after selling tuna, retained their guts, so one day they salted and dried them in the sun. Nowadays it’s accompanied with beans and potatoes resulting in a powerful and very tasty dish. Another delicious dish of the area is a salad called Xató, which is prepared with endive, cod and romesco sauce.
